The JIM Show - World 1-1

Jeannette Garcia and Daryl Rodriguez set out to create a documentary about the people who make video games. They started out planning to span the entire history of game development in one film, but soon realized that would be impossible. So they decided to start with the early days and feature the pioneers who started this industry, including Nolan Bushnell, David Crane and the under-appreciated engineers at Atari. The film is called World 1-1 and it just released earlier this week.

The night before release, the duo were gracious enough to spend their pre-launch evening talking to Jack, Jeremy and myself on The Jacked Up Indie & Mojo Show. They gave us some insight into how they went about creating this film, and told a few stories that didn’t make it into the final cut. They were delightful people and it was a pleasure having them on the show. If you’re interested in watching the movie, you can download it on theirwebsite. I highly recommend it.

If you’d like to listen to the episode, head on over to our Libsyn page. You can also check the iTunes page and subscribe so you don’t miss a show. I also recommend reading Jack’s blog post on Game Informer for more details.

If you’re enjoying The Weekend Paper, I’d appreciate your support on my Go Fund Me campaign, so that I can create more video content and purchase a domain name for the site rather than using the Blogspot template. If you don’t want to donate, no worries, but maybe you could share the Go Fund Me page with your friends. Thanks for reading!
